Throughout the Palmerton Area there is an abundance of fascinating history, memorabilia, and stories. Fortunately, a group of individuals formed a Historical Society to collect and preserve these treasures. As more individuals dedicated their time and resources to this cause, the Society's Mission grew.

As you surf the PAHS Website, you will learn more about the ways in which the Society has been able to preserve and present more of the area's history for the public to learn about and enjoy.

Given that history is ongoing - today's events are tomorrow's history - there is an even greater incentive for the Historical Society to continue its mission. We invite you to join us in fulfilling our mission by offering your time and support if possible.

The mission of the Palmerton Area Historical Society is to create awareness, appreciation, pride, and respect for the people and the rich heritage of the towns of Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing, and Lower Towamensing townships; to collect and preserve relevant materials; and to educate the general public through exhibits, publications, and programs.
